BLACK FRIDAY: Another Example of Why We Prep

Black Friday ChaosAnother year, and yet another example of why I keep telling people to be prepared. Chaos has yet again broken out, as millions of people made their way to stores to take part in the annual madness known as Black Friday.

From fights breaking out over discounted cell phones, to people being trampled while trying to buy Black Friday lingerie, this year’s madness is just one more reason people need to be prepared. As I’ve said numerous times in the past, during a catastrophic event, people will become one of the largest threats to your safety and security.

If people can go this insane over a bunch of discounted Chinese made crap, how do you think these same people will behave in a disaster that caused them to go without food and water? The next time you think you have enough food, water, and emergency supplies, remember these videos and then ask yourself, are you really prepared?

Could not agree more. This is insane, disgusting, and a completely good thing. It gives us actual insight on to exactly what things will look like and why us smart ones will prep. A complete validation for doing what we do.

    • Robert

Yep, it totally proves that we are making good decisions. Wait until the dollar collapses and that is the last can of green beans. No way I’m taking my kids into that store to buy food. Plan ahead everyone food for 6 months, guns, ammo, and silver.
I will throw every dead body in the river!!

      • Largetarget

sure contaminate the river for us down stream. Way to be pal. lol

        • Pyro

But that gives you a reason to be smart about how you drink water. ;)

          • Runner

Haha. A bit dark, but I love where this thread is going.

      • paul

if it comes to that ,those bodies would make great catfish bait.

  2. MrMarshallsan

I love it, sad it may be but damn do I love it.

  3. KK4KMO

Total anarchy just to save $10. Very sad!

The Great Unwashed flexing their muscle.

Problem is that there is a 200 to 300 percent mark-up on everything we buy. They knock a $100 off a tv or something and there still making a killing off it. I used to work for a chicken plant and we processed the KFC 8 piece meals. by the time it left the plant the meal only cost about $.25 then you go to buy it at KFC and its up to $20. People are just plain out STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Snake

I went to black Friday sale last year to buy a Gun at our local Gun store, there where maybe 40 people there everyone was very nice we all waited our turn and talked about what guns we like no yelling it was one of the best times i have had shopping. whats makes it so different when i went then i see at places like Walmart and in these videos ?

    • Dark Space

Obviously… everyone was armed. An armed society is a polite society.

      • Largetarget

I was thinking the same thing. people don’t get lippy if they think your armed.

As Regan once said “peace through superior fire power.”

        • Prepped with style

You guys make me laugh hysterically… true story that if everyone there was armed everyone would wait their turn!

Funny, one of the commenters referred to chickens (albeit at the processing plant)- the first thing that came to my mind when I watched the videos was feeding time for a large flock of chickens. When you put out feed in the large troughs that commercial cicken operations used to use, they peck and climb all over each other to get at the feed trough. . .they even sounded the same as these people. Sad commentary on how peole behave these days.

I have no sympathy for either the people, or the merchants – the merchants brought it on themselves with the ridiculous time they start their “Black Friday Sales” and the come-on, “doorbuster prices”!!
The people are just acting stupidly – why would anyone feel bad for them?

If merchants just opened for business at their normal business hours and offered nominal sales prices, they could avoid the mass pandemoniam with the accompanying injuries, fights and resultant lawsuits.

    Stupid is as stupid does!

  7. Sir Preps-A-Lot

Look at the 4th video down, pause just before :46-:49 seconds. The lady in white at the bottom of the screen is actually BITING PEOPLE to get past the horde!

    • Robert

I saw that, she bit two people in fact. Remember that when she and a mob are trying to over run a house. They are immoral scum and wont survive. i need more ammo and food.

  8. I used to go out on Black Friday – about 30 years ago. I remember, before Walmart, that Kmart was going to open at 8:00 in the morning. Everyone thought that was crazy because their normal hours were 10:00! There’d be maybe 30 people waiting. And now, there’s no way I’d ever venture to any store that would have more than a few people standing in line waiting for the store to open. Why would I want to put myself in danger on purpose? Are people really in such a hurry to spend their money on junk or is it the excitement of the kill?

  9. JAS

This is exactly why you should not broadcast that you have lots of stored food and water. In a major crisis, your neighbors could be at your door acting the same way. OPSEC.

Despite popular belief the type of stuff showed in the above videos are not common on blsck friday, they are quite rare.

  11. What? You call yourself Preppers and you don’t go Black Friday shopping? What better way to prepare for the chaos after TSHTF?

    • Mike

LOL… What better way to prepare for the chaos after TSHTF?

Answer: Avoid other people at all costs, especially the hordes of irrational people.

Living close to a large shopping mall, I have learned years ago to avoid the “Black Friday” mobs that congest traffic, shopping crowds, an increase of unscrupulous ‘pick-pockets’ and other miscreants.

  12. phoenixfly11

I stopped going to Black Friday, there is nothing purchasable worth risking my life for, considering most are luxuries. People will jump you on the way out to your car, run you down, all those awful things. Also, at my local mall, a lot of people always decide to get drunk in the lines while waiting for the stores to open and they become very aggressive and belligerent throughout the night. My friend went to Black Friday this year, and ended up coming back with broken glasses and bruises on her face from being elbowed by a drunken customer.

  13. John Gutenstein

This, this is what we’ve been turned into. I feel sympathy for the people, a tinge of remorse for their misled mindset. I do not blame them, instead I blame corporate media and over-endorsed consumerism that has systematically, over a course of decades, conditioned the people into a perfect breed of self-indulgent consumers. It is not interwoven into their nature, and unless our corrupt capitalism-abusing politicians are replaced, we will not see an improvement in their behavior.

I am sure alot of those people are kind human beings, some(as seen in the biting woman)are likely mentally impaired. It is sad to see they are able to degrade and control us in such an inhuman manner.

    • CathyM

I call BS, everyone is responsible for their own actions. These people know right from wrong, they just don’t care. We’re all subjected to corporate media and consumerism but we don’t all behave this way.

  14. Prepped with style

These videos are why I don’t leave my house on black friday. Just a day before these people were thankful for what they had, now they are killing each other for a phone and panties? Blows my mind!
