Preppers are often asked exactly what it is they are prepping for; while there are probably as many reasons as there are preppers, Chicago is one of the best examples of why millions of Americans have realized the need to be defensively prepared.
Over the Memorial Day weekend over 70 people were shot in Chicago, pushing the total number of shootings for this year well over 1,500. Yes, you read that right; 6 months into the years and there have already been 1,500 shootings in the gun-free utopia known as Chicago.
But how can that be? Chicago is a city run by liberal democrats who have made it virtually impossible for a citizen to legally acquire a firearm – if you believe in the gun control fairy tales, Chicago should be a Utopia of peace and love! Unfortunately we live in the real-world, and the real-world can be a pretty damn ugly place, especially when you disarm the public and allow thugs to terrorize the streets.
For those that prep, and understand the need to be able to defend themselves, I’m probably preaching to the choir; but that being said, Chicago should be a wake-up call for anyone who doubts how bad things will get should this country plunge into a long-term collapse situation. Chicago is merely a reflection of what we will see, and to some extent are already seeing spread throughout the country.
Ever since the police were told to stand down in Baltimore and Ferguson, we have seen street gangs and the general criminal element growing increasingly more violent. So far this year there have been 1,514 people shot on the streets of Chicago, up 50 percent from last year at this time. Of that number, 228 have been killed by the gunfire.
Chicago: An Urban Warzone
While the mainstream media continues to ignore what’s going on in Chicago and other urban areas of the country, instead pretending the problem is police related violence; the fact is Chicago has been a warzone for quite some time. In fact, the city has become more dangerous than Iraq.
