The head of U.S. Air Forces in the Pacific, General Herbert “Hawk” Carlisle, said on Monday that Russian military patrols have significantly upped their air activity in the Asia-Pacific region, and have even starting sending military air patrols into American air space.
According to General Carlisle, Russian military air patrols have started patrolling the western shore of the United States, with a number of flights flying right over the Coast of California.
Speaking at Washington’s Center for Strategic and International Studies think tank, Carlisle said there had been “a significant” increase in Russian activity in the Asia Pacific and said the Russians have also started to increase surveillance operations of military exercises involving U.S. forces.
“They’ve come with their long-range aviation out to the coast of California, they’ve circumnavigated Guam,” he said.
While some are blaming the tensions in the Ukraine for Russia’s proactive flights over U.S. airspace, as we reported last year, Russia has been flexing its military muscle towards the United States for some time now. In fact, last year Russia’s most senior military officer, Chief of General Staff Nikolai Makarov, warned that Russia was ready to use “destructive force” and preemptively strike American NATO missile defense sites.
Are Russia & China preparing for a Third World War?
According to a 2009 report prepared for the Pentagon, subversive elements from the Chinese and Russian Governments were planning to take down the United States in a “three-phased attack” that started with the 2008 stock market crash.
The report claims that Russia, with the help of the Chinese Government, launched the attack in 2008 that lead to the crash of the stock market and the economic crisis that followed.
According to the author of the report, financial analyst Kevin D. Freeman, the Chinese Military has been preparing for “an economic attack on the U.S. for 12 years.” Evidence in his report, including statements made by then Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson Jr., showed that in 2008 Russians approached the Chinese with a plan to dump its holdings of bonds by the federally backed mortgage companies Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Ultimately this lead to the 2008 economic collapse, and seems to confirm a coordinated attempt to crash the U.S. economy.
Since 2008, the Chinese and Russian governments have both significantly increased their military power, and have begun conducting joint military war drills. Even more troubling, was last year’s revelation by the State controlled Chinese news media that the Chinese Military had detailed plans for conducting nuclear strikes on U.S. Cities.
This week China announced they will be conducting another joint naval drill with Russia in the East China Sea off Shanghai in late May. The Chinese military is calling it a bid to deepen military cooperation.
