A deadly winter storm has knocked out the power for more than a million people in the Northeast. The storm is responsible for at least 23 deaths and has caused widespread power failures from Arkansas to the east coast.
The storm system hit Oklahoma and parts of Texas and then headed east. Highway crews in some states are gearing up for as much as an 1 1/2 inches of ice. The thick ice has already wreaked havoc on power lines across the county.
As many as 1 million people have lost power, and officials are expecting the problem to get worse. Authorities say that the ice problems have caused wide spread power outages that could take a week or more to repair.
