When planning a trip into the wilderness, make sure to tell someone where you are going and when you are planning on coming back. If something should go wrong, they can alert the authorities and a rescue can take place.
It’s also a good idea to leave a note on the dashboard of your vehicle. In the note include where you are planning to hike, when you plan to return, and some emergency contact information. If rescuers need to find you this will make there job a lot easier.
