Yesterday, we reported on how people throughout the country were snitching and even being encouraged to rat out their neighbors and businesses who weren’t complying with state issues stay at home or business closure notices.
Today, we have learned that several areas in California and throughout the country have deemed gun stores as “non-essential” businesses and that they will be forced to shut down because being able to defend yourself and your family during a crisis is now not an option.
Gun Stores vs Government: Are Gun Stores Essential Business? Does COVID-19 Suspend Your Second Amendment Right to Buy a Gun?
Several gun stores tried to defy the order, but were promptly shamed on social media, reported to authorities and threatened by police that they had to shut down.
A gun shop in Castro Valley, California that defied the stay-at-home order was forced to close Friday after the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office warned the owner that he would be cited if he kept his business open.
On Friday, the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office forced bay area gun shops to close.
Mike Addis, Solar Tactical owner, one of the shops that were forced to close by the Sheriff, said our 2nd Amendment right is no longer considered essential during a forced shelter in place.
He said, people, are concerned about looting. They’re concerned about their safety in the house. That’s what’s driving all of this — first-time buyers concerned about their safety.” But now, if you live in California they have deemed your 2nd amendment right to go and buy protection as “non-essential”.
An Alameda County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said their phones have been ringing off the hook with people turning in non-essential businesses that are still opening its doors to customers. The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office created a team of deputies who “stop by stores” in the county that should not be open.
The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office told local media KCRA, “We’ll start out nice. Then we’ll post a notice to close and then we will take enforcement.”
In San Jose, Bullseye Bishop, a gun shop that tried to defy the order, was forced to close after San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo declared that “gun stores are non-essential.” “We are having panic buying right now for food,” Liccardo said Wednesday. “The one thing we cannot have is panic buying of guns.”
Law enforcement officials confirmed that they shut down the Bullseye Bishop: “We went out there and closed it,” San Jose police Chief Eddie Garcia said, adding that the owner was cooperative.
National Shooting Sports Foundation Imploring Government Officials to Designate Gun Businesses ‘Critical’
The NSSF, just sent the following statement to members…
As your industry’s trade association, we want you to know the National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®) is hard at work for you during this challenging time as the nation faces the COVID-19 pandemic. NSSF is in contact with the White House, Capitol Hill and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) advocating that our industry – from manufacturers to distributors to retailers to ranges – be declared by DHS as a “national critical infrastructure industry.” The DHS list is only guidance to states and local governments and does not carry the force of law. Therefore, NSSF is proactively working at the state and local level to advocate that our industry be exempted from any emergency ordinances or orders as “essential businesses.”
Criminals seem to have gotten the notice that it’s open season during the COVID-19 Hysteria!

And now that they know the gun stores have been forced to close in places like Northern California…
In places like North Carolina, where gun stores were just told they need to close by Monday, long lines of panicked residents lined up in hopes of being able to buy protection.

It is beyond odd that police seem to have time to focus on duly-licensed gun stores, even as officials are essentially offering amnesty to actual criminals in many areas of the country.
Freeing Criminals, while limiting your Right to Protect Yourself and Your Family?
As Law Enforcement throughout the country announces steps to reduce enforcement or even free convicted criminals, it seems in some places think the rights of criminals trump the right to defend yourself from them during a crisis!
In Philadelphia, the Police Commissioner actually announced an end to arrests for offenses as serious as burglary and auto theft. This comes at the same time that Philadelphia authorities told gun stores to all immediately close, and announced that enforcement of the order had begun and that they hoped gun stores would comply.
In Philadelphia, the Police Department also shut down its gun-permits unit. Firearm owners without a license-to-carry permit will, in almost all cases, not be able to carry the weapons without risking arrest.
The irony of all of this is that most of the people who are rushing to the gun stores are first-time gun owners — people who in all likelihood were anti-gun before the crisis struck. They are now finding out that:
- It’s not as easy to buy a gun as they claimed.
- They are quickly realizing that you can’t order a gun over the internet that shows up at your front door
- Their hysterical anti-gun crap helped fuel the current run on guns and the politicians who they voted for are now the ones shutting down these stores.
Prepare for Coronavirus-related Chaos
Hysteria and panic can make people unpredictable, and even turn the neighboor you thought was your friend against you! If you need supplies, at this point I would stay off the streets for awhile and try to order them online — if you can find them. Many retailers have started limiting even online orders, and Amazon is out of large amounts of grocery products. But if you can, I would see what you can find online and use services like Amazon Fresh, Bulk Emergency Foods, or Amazon Grocery.

After purchasing a firearm and ammo are banned, the next step is setting up road blocks then searching vehicles for weapons and ammo. After that the cops will commence house-to-house searches for weapons of any kind and confiscating your personal property all under the guise of protecting the people which of course is a lie. The fact is, and we all know this on this Web site that it’s all about suppression and controlling the people.
It’s best to hunker down and inventory your magazines and ammo.
The Indiana Governor went and did it. He trashed the US Constitution today by signing a state wide “stay at home” order for non-essential travel because of the Corona-virus. I guess we can’t be trusted to use common sense and logic to manage our health and the health of our families. Martial Law abounds. The Indiana State Police will work with local authorities…what ever that means, to enforce the action for the next two weeks. God save us!
