The FBI issued an alert to law enforcement throughout the country warning that terrorist groups are planning to attack venues throughout the Thanksgiving holiday.
The alert specifically warned about homegrown terrorists who could be inspired by ISIS, who earlier in the month called on their followers to attack events like the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York.
ISIS called for their supporters to commit vehicles attacks like the deadly Bastille Day attack in Nice, France. Rumiyah magazine, an ISIS run publication, wrote, “… a vehicle is plunged at a high speed into a large congregation of [unbelievers]…leaving behind a trail of carnage.”
John Miller, the NYPD’s deputy commissioner for intelligence and counterterrorism, said Monday that the NYPD has prepared for vehicle-borne attacks since the terror attack in France.
“The intelligence bureau identified 181 locations that rent trucks to the public in the metropolitan area. Of that, we went to 135 of those locations that rent vehicles under 26,000 pounds, where you wouldn’t require the possession of a commercial driver’s license to operate that. Our incident prevention unit provided them with very useful guidance on how to identify suspicious behavior and characteristics among people who are potential renters of those vehicles,” he told reporters.
The FBI warning said other potential targets over the holidays included shopping malls, special events, and crowded venues. Locations in Washington, D.C. and Virginia were described as “target-rich zones.”
Department of Homeland Security also issued a warning Tuesday in response to the threat of terrorism at the Macy’s parade.
“Though we know of no intelligence that is both specific and credible at this time of a plot by terrorist organizations to attack the homeland, the reality is terrorist-inspired individuals have conducted, or attempted to conduct, attacks in the United States,” a bulletin posted online at the Department of Homeland Security said.
The warning says terrorists could attempt to target “public events and places where people congregate.”
Stay Alert, Be Prepared.
One thing is certain, with Black Friday just around the corner there could be trouble on the horizon. Not only have a number of terrorist groups been making threats, but hordes of unbalanced Democrat activists who are falling apart over the election results are threatening to cause chaos over the weekend and throughout the holiday season.
Black Lives Matter, Anti-Trump Activists, and a number of other Democrat organizations are planning to create chaos on Black Friday, and ISIS is threatening attacks over the next month.
