In the latest attempt to rub out the family farm, the Federal Government is targeting a rancher in Nevada by sending in armed agents, armored vehicles and low-lying helicopters to steal the rancher’s cattle.
Cliven Bundy, who has been fighting the federal government’s attempts to shut him down for the last 20 years, is in a bitter battle that just took a turn for the worse. Over the weekend, armed federal agents from the Bureau of Land Management stormed Bundy’s land, stealing over 500 of the rancher’s cattle.
The government claims the cattle were illegally grazing on government land; but Bundy, who has been a rancher all his life, says he’s been doing it this way for decades. In fact, his cattle are grazing on the same land that his father and father’s father used to raise their cattle.
The trouble started in 1993 when Bundy refused to pay the feds for the right to allow his cattle to graze on land that he claims has been in his family since the 1880s. His family actually owned the land before the Bureau of Land Management ever even came into existence; so how the federal government can now claim they own the land is a bit puzzling.
“We own this land,” he said, not the feds. He said he is willing to pay grazing fees but only to Clark County, not BLM.
“Years ago, I used to have 52 neighboring ranchers,” he said. “I’m the last man standing. How come? Because BLM regulated these people off the land and out of business.”
So why now?
According to the feds, this is all about protecting the desert tortoise. Yep, apparently protecting a turtle is now reason enough to storm a man’s property and illegally steal his cattle.
Just before the round-up began, Bundy claims armed federal agents surrounded his 150-acre ranch.
“They’ve been bringing men in and equipment and setting up a compound,” Bundy told FoxNews.com Monday. “They got helicopters flying low. They got snipers around the ranch. Our access to public lands has been blocked.”
Bundy says he’s extremely fearful that the federal government is trying to turn this into another Ruby Ridge or Waco situation. The BLM has closed public lands in Clark County while they work on a plan to round up the “trespassing” cattle. Only marked vehicles are being allowed into the area and “free speech zones” have been set up several miles from the ranch in an attempt to corral protestors who have made their way into the area.
“I’ve tried to fight this thing legally, and I’ve tried to fight it politically,” Bundy said. “We’ve got one more fight. We the people haven’t fought yet.”

“He was there to do some filming when about 11 federal agents pulled up and arrested him,” Bundy told Las Vegas News 3. “They said he was outside of the First Amendment area and they took him down. We don’t know where he is now.”

This story became laughable when the guy said he’d pay grazing rights to the county but not to the federal government – if he supposedly owns the land, why would he pay the county? And I’m assuming he doesn’t have a deed? It DOESN’T MATTER that his father and grandfather and great-great-great-great-great grandfather all used that land without paying for it, I know families that have three or more generations of meth cooks, too, and I’m pretty sure that doesn’t make it legal. The bottom line is the feds didn’t raid his property and steal his cattle, they cleared cattle that was illegally grazing on federal property. He can turn this into a “rise up against the government” issue if he wants, and there will always be nuts like the folks at ‘offgridsurvival.com’ buying into and further sensationalizing it, but the bottom line is he wouldn’t pay his grazing rights so he lost his heard.

This is how are government is getting land from us and becoming stronger as we speak! Oh the tortoise is a valued part of our Eco system, bullshit! There is no constitution, there is no public land. There used to be 53 local farmers. Now there is one farm left and it is surrounded by the only thing anyone respects, a larger deadly force. The steeple will continue to be content watching their government fed entertainment until it is turned off and they herded onto their own free speech zone where no one can hear their cries for “help me, I did not break any laws….” They don’t make laws, they make regulations. So many we are all guilty of breaking some regulation, that is the design…..
Why would they need so many horses and resources to round up 500 head of cattle??? If he can show ownership rights he needs to have the sheriff serve them a cease and decease order and have them escorted from the land. If they put that many horses and riders on the border, they illegal problem would be fixed. That is the problem with this administration, they have screwed the pooch for so long, it is going to take 10 years to straighten things out.

And it’s hard to believe there are cowboys and Americans who would assist the BLM in this robbery of a private citizens livelihood, who just wants to be left alone. His family owned this land long before there was even a BLM. This agency was formed to steel private citizens land not to protect the environment. Its all about Government control and eminent domain. Our forefathers wrote the Constitution to protect it’s citizens from big government. They already control energy,education and food. They put fluoride (POISON) in our drinking water, Genetically Modify our food (GMO’S), spray us with tons and tons of chemicals (chemtrails) to dumb down the population. Where is the EPA? (In Washington) doing all the dirty work for our government. I never hear anything on the news about it because they control the Media. You only hear what they want you to hear. I believe that the government wants farmers (and everyone else for that matter) off BLM land because of the efforts the past two presidential administrations have made to open BLM land to the oil and gas industry. The information is out there…it’s already happening. The government has already leased, indefinietly, BLM land for the purposes of exploration and eventual exploitation to new deposits of fossil fuels.

I read and take ogs seriously. This isn’t about who was here first of diseases. Its about the goverment overstepping there boundaries again. Americans sit back talk trash to each other. Me personally I excersice my rights of being american. No matter where any ones relatives came from when they came from Brittan or Spain wherever it was to leave a ruler who wanted all control. In my opinion that’s what’s going on here. Last time we ended up having a revolution. Who’s ready? Me personally I’ve been prepping I’ve been ready for whatever comes our way. I think this bs in Nevada has gone to far. The govt needs to back off not just there but a lot of other places. If I lived there I would not vote for any of the politicians who are allowing this.
