Democrats in Georgia have introduced a bill in the state House of Representatives that will require the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to seize “certain weaponry and ammunition” that is deemed as contraband. The bill will effectively ban so-called “assault weapons” and “large-capacity magazines”, and make law-abiding citizens into criminals.
The bill –HB 731 – was introduced by fifteen Democrat women House members and is sponsored by Mary Margaret Oliver (D-83rd), Stacey Abrams (D-89th), Carolyn Hugley (D-136th), Pat Gardiner (D-57th), Dar’shun Kendrick (D-93rd), Dee Dawkins-Haigler (D-91st).
According to the text of the bill, certain weapons would be required to be seized by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
The text of HB 731 says that the sale, possession or distribution of “any assault weapon” will come at a high cost to the people of Georgia. It Reads:
“No person shall possess, distribute, transport, transfer, or sell any assault weapon,” it reads. “Any person who distributes, transports, or imports an assault weapon into this state shall be guilty of a felony and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by imprisonment for not less than two nor more than ten years.”
Information posted on the sponsor’s website, Mary Margaret Oliver (D-83rd), says the bill will “ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.”
Oliver went on to say in her statement, “Georgia needs debate about these weapons which are only used for rapidly killing people.”… “Assault weapons are not necessary for deer hunting.”
If you had any doubt about the ultimate goal of the anti-gun politicians who claim they are only trying to stop criminals look no farther than what’s happening in Georgia. These people have finally admitted what their goal really is, the confiscation of law-abiding citizens firearms.
Why ban a type of firearm that has killed less people than hammers?
While the mainstream media would like you to believe these so-called assault rifles are somehow responsible for killing millions of people, the truth is, more people are killed by blunt objects every year than are killed by all types of rifles combined. According to the F.B.I.’s own statistics, you are more likely to be killed by someone’s “hands or feet” than you are to be killed by an AR15 — or all rifles combined for that matter.
