Government seeks to legalize use of Propaganda on American People

U.S. government propagandaSeveral congressmen are looking to pass an amendment that would once again allow the government to legally use propaganda on the American Public. The amendment would basically strike down two previous acts—the Smith-Mundt Act of 1948 and Foreign Relations Authorization Act in 1987—that were passed to protect the American public from government sponsored propaganda.

You Got What It Takes Propaganda Poster Rep. Mac Thornberry (R-Texas) and Rep. Adam Smith (D-Wash) are the two congressmen sponsoring this bi-partisan amendment that would allow the government to legally use misinformation campaigns on the American public. The amendment to this years $642 billion defense spending bill would “strike the current ban on domestic dissemination” and allow the government to legally use State Department and Pentagon sponsored propaganda campaigns.

do with less propaganda posterBetween the governments use of mainstream media to control the news to the government demonizing groups who they disagree with, this amendment is yet another example of their disdain for the American people. As it is, it’s hard enough to believe anything you hear or see on the mainstream news. If this amendment is allowed to pass, the flood gates of misinformation and propaganda will make it almost impossible to separate fact from fiction.

To put forth a bill that allows the government to legally lie to the American public is not only ridiculous, but it’s a slap into the face to the principles that this country was founded on.

This should serve as proof that these bastards have no fear of the public. The founders would be ashamed to know we allowed this to happen in this country.

Yes, they already were doing this and we all knew it. Bu the fact that they are so willing to put this out for everyone to see just shows how little they fear the public.

We have officially lost our country and our freedom and we have no one to blame but ourselves for allowing it to happen.

This is becoming way too much for any social class. There needs to be a poor and a middle class in order to support the elite by being the foundation to their roof. Now the government is so big and so out of touch with what this country was meant to be that they are coming out with more and more ridiculous bills that should be quashed rather than even considered. This is a ridiculous piece of legislation and is obsolete anyway, since they propagate nothing but disinformation anyway….This is why the media is so stretched from one side to the other and no longer has a strictly non-biased opinion.

Like they haven’t done it all along. Bin Laden, etc. They have actually reported that the new leader of the terrorists, Osama’s right hand man is now in charge, but in 2008 they reported the same guy was killed in a drone strike. They lie to us every single day, and people buy all that crap. Now they want men no to get tested for prostate cancer under the lie that it is better not to know if you have cancer. That is the craziest damn thing I’ve heard yet. Plus, treatment may make you impotent, but thay didn’t add that the cancer makes you impotent anyway. The government is like a big rich nuthouse.
