Never one to let a tragedy slip by on his watch, without using it to push his political agenda, President Obama called for more gun control measures after 9 people were killed by a lone gunman in South Carolina.
“Communities like this have had to endure tragedies like this too many times,” Mr. Obama said. “We don’t have all the facts, but we do know that once again, innocent people were killed in part because someone who wanted to inflict harm had no trouble getting their hands on a gun.”
He went on, “Let’s be clear. At some point, we as a country will have to reckon with the fact that this type of mass violence does not happen in other advanced countries. It doesn’t happen in other places with this kind of frequency. At some point, it’s going to be important for the American people to come to grips with it.”
Vice President Joseph R. Biden, who has worked for years pushing stricter gun regulations, said the church shootings should compel the country to act.
“As a nation, we must confront the ravages of gun violence and the stain of hatred that continues to be visited on our streets, in our schools, in our houses of worship and in our communities,” Mr. Biden said in a statement with his wife, Jill. “Hate has once again been let loose in an American community.”
We don’t have a gun problem; we have a Culture Problem.
Just like during past tragedies, the President has yet again failed to recognize the facts; we don’t have a gun problem in America, we have a problem with a culture of violence and immorality.
As I pointed out after the Newtown, Connecticut shooting in 2012, the same idiots in the media, the government, and in Hollywood who can’t stop blaming guns for every tragedy in the world, are the same people who continue to push a culture of immorality and violence every chance they get. Let’s not forget that this is the same President who hangs out with, and allows a violent convicted felon and criminal drug dealing rapper to roam the halls of the White House.
How can we blame the guns, while ignoring the fact that violence and immoral behavior is celebrated in this country – so much so, that it has made its way right into the White House. If guns are bad, why are the people who glorify using them as part of their criminal gangster lifestyle given celebrity status?
What the Media Continues to Ignore: People with Guns Stop Bad People From Committing Crimes.
Another thing the President conveniently ignored is the fact that since 1950, all but two of the mass shootings that have happened in this country have one thing in common: they all happened in a designated gun-free zone. While what happened here was tragic, and was indeed a sick and twisted act committed by a sick and twisted person, the fact is new gun laws would have done nothing to stop what happened.
Criminals and psychopaths don’t follow the law; why any politician thinks passing more laws will somehow stop them is bizarre and lacks all forms of logic. The only thing that could have stopped and Active Shooter situation like this was a well-trained and well-armed person.
Helping Push the Lie of Racial Intolerance
The president also took time to talk about the racial aspect of the killings, saying that because the shootings took place in a black church it “also raises questions about a dark part of our history.”
I don’t dispute the fact that this person may have been a racist and motivated by hatred; but the 24/7 media coverage of every single act of injustice designed to tear this country apart is just pushing crackpots like this deeper into their ideology of hate. For the last couple of years the media, the White House and demented politicians in D.C. have feverishly worked to convince this country that we have a race problem; we don’t.
The problem is the politicians who push this crap in order to suit their political agenda. The sad reality of our world is we have unbalanced people who then latch on to that, and use it to fit their agenda of craziness and hate. There are crazy people of every color, unfortunately it’s only the crazy ones we ever hear about. What we should be focused on is how we can stop these people, and how we can better protect ourselves and our families from this kind of craziness.
