The Obama administration announced today that it will be taking even more unconstitutional actions by issuing another set of executive actions aimed at taking away our 2nd amendment rights.
Despite the fact that the President of the United States has no legal authority to do so, the Obama administration will enact at least two more executive gun control orders to go along with the 23 he issued earlier in the year. Among the new orders includes one that will stop the importation of collectible military firearms that our government has shipped overseas.
In what can only be described as an attempt to do away with our constitutional rights, the White House is going to stop the import of military surplus firearms, something that many collectors may have a problem with.
Since 2005, the U.S. has approved 250,000 of those guns to be reimported; now, the White House will ban everyone except for museums, and a few government entities, from being able to get their hands on these collectible firearms.

This has nothing to do with keeping the streets safe
These executive orders have nothing to do with making America’s streets any safer; in fact, I would argue these rules do the exact opposite. Who really believes that a bunch of thugs and criminals are clamoring to get their hands on old outdated collectible firearms, in order to use them on the streets of America?
These thugs aren’t buying guns legally. Not a single one of these executive actions is going to keep illegal guns out of the hands of criminals. We have thousands upon thousands of gun laws on the books, and I have yet to see any of them keep guns out of the hands of criminals.
Just one look at these policies, will show anyone who isn’t blinded by political ideology that these gun laws are making us even less safe in the face of violent crime. Cities like Chicago, Los Angeles and New York, all of whom have some of the most restrictive gun control laws in the country, are ironically some of the most dangerous cities in America.
From 2003 to 2011, 4,265 people were murdered in Chicago. As we pointed out in the past, that’s almost double the amount of military members who were killed Afghanistan since Oct. 7, 2001. If these gun control laws are working, why are the murder rates so high in cities that make it impossible to own a gun?
If this administration wants to stop crime, maybe they should stop promoting a culture of violence by discontinuing their policy of inviting violent convicted felons and drug dealers into the White House. Another option would be to go after the real criminals instead of targeting law-abiding gun owners. I know that seems upside down in our current world, but I’m betting it just might work.
This all has nothing to do with public safety.
