We’ve been warning of its passage for some time now, and now that the UN Gun Control Treaty has passed through the UN, President Obama has confirmed he will be signing the UN Arms Trade Treaty sometime this month – despite the fact that he has no legal authority to ratify any treaties.
Jay Carney, President Obama’s White House Press Secretary, has confirmed that President Obama will sign the UN Arms Trade Treaty “before the end of August”
The timing coincides with the Senate taking a 5 week vacation. The U.S. Senate is the only government body who can legally ratify treaties, so the timing seems suspicious to say the least.
Just like his numerous past unconstitutional executive orders, the President seems to be yet again ignoring our laws, and screwing the American people in favor of another unconstitutional international law.
Americans need to be watchful, because if this treaty somehow gets ratified, it could mean an end to our second amendment rights. Once this thing becomes the law of the land, expect a major crackdown on gun rights as they attempt to set up an international gun registry that will eventually lead to confiscation of all firearms.
I will be so glad when this DESTROIER OF AMERICA is gone and our next president and congress changes all of his bullshit back.

Considering that the citizens of the US and their individual States are not under the rule of law of the UN, if they attempt to take my weapons, they will meet the business end of them.

Oh, and there is also the fact that citizens are not subject to the EXORDs of the president, only those who are members of the Executive Branch of the Federal Government are affected by those… just FYI.
And another thing, What happens if the house and senate continue to bicker not for the benefit for the country, but for their own party. This is not only wrong but unfair, Both sides are wrong and should take blame, even when this “Destroier?” Of America attempted to pass laws or even to conduct any acts he was immediately shut down by the right wing. @insanity: sidebar, I do think we should have educational requirements for voting, but for that to work we would also have to be able to provide each and every school with proper tools to convey that education (otherwise it would violate the 14th Amendment), which is something we are struggling to do as it is.
And this is why it is time for a third party, one foe the people. Looks like the Tea Party would be a good ground to start with, build core values and stick to them.

I’m not a fan of Obama at all, but after READING the treaty, it doesn’t sound too bad. It’s very large scale and mostly applicable towards military scale orders, and if I got it right, all the treaty is really demanding is that participants set a restriction on how much of item x they can import/export/distribute, that the countries keep accurate records of transactions involving the specified items, and that they not buy them with the intention of giving them to terrorists or maniacs. I don’t really think this would impact our 2nd Amendment Rights, and the treaty itself states that the restrictions are to be made with consideration to legitimate use of guns and in respect of rights within participating nations. That said, it’s pretty sad that it’s come to the president signing bills behind congress’ back so to speak, and it’s even more sad that people aren’t more upset by this and other recent issues within the administration.

@Sniper: I know the expression, but it’s not really applicable here. What the treaty says in a nutshell is “keep track of your weapons and don’t give them to terrorists/genocidal maniacs.” The treaty covers but isn’t focusing on small arms; the aim is to prevent warlords from stockpiling large quantities of weapons. It also pertains to purchases and deals made by governmental agencies, not individual consumers. The UN isn’t concerned with American citizens having small arms, so as long as we don’t have tanks and RPGs we should be ok.
@ Insanity I agree with you, before you vote in this country you should be educated on the topic of civics, problem is a huge % of people would be unable to vote. I think you are high man. @Dovahkiin, I’ve read through the treaty as well an am also befuddled as to why people are going nuts in regards to their 2nd amendment rights. I think that is part of the problem. People are not reading it…and assume since its about “arms” that its about something evil the government is doing. Reading it again, I see the intent of this and fully support limiting weapons of war being sold across the border.
The problem is actually in how it’s written and not in how we are reading it. Just like a majority of these types of vague regulations / laws, it’s all in the details. This is just the first step in what will eventually lead to a global registry which as the article states is all about confiscation.
In my opinion when it comes to guns I take the NOT ANOTHER INCH STANCE. There is no gray area when it comes to our rights.

I shared your link on my Facebook page and a friend posted that this is not true. I tried to find where Obama has stated that he will or intends to sign this while congress is on vacation. It would not surprise me if the President would try to do this. However, I would like to know facts and not conjecture before post something as a fact. Hopefully you can give me facts that would substantiate his intent.

Nobody is taking down your posts, or censoring anything you’re saying. You have multiple comments on this thread (most of which I disagree with) that are still all listed above, none of them were deleted. If something got held up, or didn’t make it into the comments queue, it’s because we have a filtering process is place that filters certain things (words). This was necessary after some idiot came here making threats on the site (if your really interested you can read more about it on this past post.. https://offgridsurvival.com/countrydivided/).
The filter isn’t perfect, and every once in awhile a legitimate post get’s held up or may accidentally get deleted. Between hundreds of spam comments a day, and people who come here to specifically start trouble or threaten others with violence, it gets pretty hard to have a 100% perfect comments section. I try to go through and read anything that gets held up, but sometimes I may miss something in between all spam and the BS.
Also, you may want to think about what you’re calling people before you get upset with what others say back to you. Coming here complaining about Tea Partiers or Southern Baptists isn’t really doing anything to further the conversation. In fact, in my opinion it just hijacks the thread and has nothing to do with the original article.
