Venezuela war

Republican congressman Mario Diaz-Balart says he believes Russian President Vladimir Putin has secretly installed Nuclear weapons inside of  Venezuela, as Secretary of State Mike Pompeo warned the US was prepared to take military action to stop the chaos in Venezuela.

Republican congressman Mario Diaz-Balart told Fox news host Tucker Carlson that Russia secretly installed nuclear missiles in Venezuela, and is worried what might happen after opposition leader Juan Guaido called for rival Nicolas Maduro to be ousted from office.

Diaz-Balart told Fox News if Maduro stays in power it could be “an open door for the Russians and for the Chinese and for others to increase their activity against our national security interest.”

Journalist Tucker Carlson then asked: “Are you suggesting they are going to invade?”

“The closest we ever came to nuclear war was because the Russians put missiles, right, nuclear missiles in Cuba,” replied Diaz-Balart.

“Are you saying the Russians will put nuclear missiles in Venezuela?” Carlson asked.

“What I am suggesting is that they are already there,” answered Diaz-Balart, without offering any evidence to back up his claim.

Pompeo says US prepared to take military action in Venezuela

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Wednesday that the US government was ready and prepared to take military action to stop the chaos in Venezuela.

“The president has been crystal clear and incredibly consistent — military action is possible — if that’s what’s required — that’s what the United States will do,” Pompeo said in an interview with Fox Business Network.

“We are trying to do everything we can to avoid violence … We’d prefer a peaceful transition of government there where (President Nicolas) Maduro leaves and a new election is held,” he said

The top US diplomat added that he expects “lots of people taking to the streets today to defend their democracy.”

According to acting Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan, all options are on the table when it comes to Venezuela. Shanahan spoke at a House Appropriations subcommittee hearing Wednesday after he abruptly canceled his trip to Europe, because of the Venezuela crisis.

Shanahan said he’s staying in Washington to coordinate with the National Security Council and the State Department.

On Tuesday, President Trump threatened a “full and complete embargo” and sanctions against Cuba if its military did not “immediately” stop operations in Venezuela to shore up Maduro’s regime.

No Border Wall, but the Neocons may get their war!

So instead of securing our border and strengthening our defense against those who are invading our country every day, it looks like the Bush era neocons are yet again pushing their bullshit agenda of attacking countries who have not attacked us in hopes of spending trillions of our tax dollars on more “nation building” nonsense.

    • I agree. Hopefully it will leave the Neo-cons hogtied and sent to the Hague for war crimes. That is the only valid reason President Trump has for going along with this situation.
