For the third night in a row, people across the country used the Zimmerman trial as an excuse to take to the streets and commit crimes.
In both Los Angeles and Oakland, violent protestors took to the streets robbing and attacking innocent bystanders, as police stood by and just watched the events unfold.
Demonstrators in Los Angeles stormed a local Walmart, shut down roads and attacked innocent bystanders who got caught up in the mob.
In Oakland multiple arrests were made for assault and vandalism of property. One man, a local waiter, was smashed in the head with a hammer as he tried to ask protestors not to smash the windows of the restaurant he worked for.
After yesterdays article on the riots, a couple of people emailed us to suggest that we should be supporting these protestors. In my opinion, that’s about the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Most of these people have no idea what they’re even protesting, and violently attacking people in the streets is not a protest, it’s a sick criminal action. Why would we support that?
Another reader emailed to say she would not be reading our site anymore because we pointed out that these people were violent criminals who had no idea what they were rioting for. So be it; our job at Offgrid Survival is not to baby people, or worry about offending someone’s political viewpoints. Our job is to report the news – as we see it – and inform our readers so they can make better plans for their safety.
These riots are an example of why we all prep, and why we recommend people stay vigilant at all times. Part of being vigilant, means staying informed and knowing when these type of events are about to happen. So anyone who is offended can take a walk! I completely agree with your stand on this-they are bullies and criminals and it is the job of the police to protect and defend. My only question is who is covering the demand for these officers to be fired and or prosecuted for not protecting these people and thereby causing harm to others for which they are fully liable as that is why they are given their paycheck. That simple. All the rest is bs and distractions from the real truth.

I grew up in the Los Angeles area. I’ve seen this level of stupidity too many times. These actions have no impact on the issue they are pretending to protest. It’s only an excuse to become violent. And yes, it’s criminal activity. The police either needed a much larger presence to stop it, or stay away entirely, because now they’re seen as useless.
I have to question the “reason” the “protesters” decided to assault a Walmart? What did Walmart do to them? I’d bet a lot of them even “shopped” that store!

Exactly. These poor motorists had no idea what they were driving into, and the news reporters ( even though I hate media news) and a Waiter??? This is Exactly why you should have the right to carry a fire arm and protect yourself as well as your family. Believe me , this is unfolding exactly according to plan ( while police stand by and do nothing ). The important thing here is NOT TO TAKE the BAIT. Understandably there are frustrations but random attack is exactly what the control factor wants. Chaos / control / martial law / super prisons filled with free labor work force to compensate for the international abandonment of the American Dollar. A Concentration Camp Nation is the plan. with all due respect when the officers do Intervene (such as the occupy oakland) they end up pissing a bunch of people off for “violation of right” but when they dont intervene they still piss a bunch of people off. It seems to be a lose-lose situation.

California govt code sections 821, 845,, 846 tell us the police have no statutory obligation to protect an individual from crime or violence or any thing else. The Second Amendment does not give you the right to defend yourself. Your right to life is an inalienable right given each and every human being by our creator. The Second Amendment merely codifys a line the government has no jurisdiction to cross. But, what good is a Constitutional right, when more than half the people are to lazy to vote and too lazy to defend their rights?
With the astonishingly high rate of black-on-white crime in this country, maybe whites should have been rioting all along. I say bring back segregation. I have never been able to understand how people during a riot can stop a car or truck. They are lucky that they did not try to stop the wrong person, there would have been bodies all over the street.
