Virginia Gun War: Militias Forming & Counties form 2nd Amendment Sanctuaries As Democrats Threaten to use National Guard

As Virginia Democrats get ready to declare war on Gun Owners, a battle is brewing throughout the state that echoes arguments that led to the American Revolution. Virginia Democrats are attempting to pass Senate Bill 16, which would ban commonly-owned semi-automatic firearms, like the AR-15 and certain firearm magazines.

According to the NRA, the ban would even extend to common firearm parts. The restrictions included in the proposed legislation does not grandfather current owners. The legislation is clearly designed to be firearms confiscation, as current owners would be forced to dispossess themselves of their property or face a felony conviction.

But even more troubling is Governor Ralph (Blackface) Northam is preparing to jail gun owners that don’t comply.

The governor and his communist allies in the State Senate are pushing  budget bill (HB30) which includes a quarter-million dollars for the “increase in the operating cost of adult correctional facilities resulting from the enactment” of Northam’s gun control measures. Yes, they are getting ready to put gun owners who don’t comply with gun bans in jail!

100 cities/counties across Virginia Declare themselves Second Amendment Sanctuaries

Gadsden flag

In response to Democrat lawmakers who have threatened to use force to make Virginians comply with their draconian gun control measures, Gun owners are storming local government offices demanding that their government leaders establish sanctuaries for gun rights. So far it seems to be working!

100 counties, cities and towns throughout the stated have approved some type of resolution to become Second Amendment sanctuaries.

The resolutions vary throughout the state, but most of them declare the intention of local officials to oppose any “unconstitutional restrictions” on the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms. In the last two months, more than 100 counties, cities, and towns in Virginia have approved such resolutions.

Virginia Sherrif Says he will Deputize Residents

One Virginia sheriff has vowed to deputize thousands of county residents “to protect their constitutional right to own firearms.”

“Every Sheriff and Commonwealth Attorney in Virginia will see the consequences if our General Assembly passes further unnecessary gun restrictions,” Culpeper County Sheriff Scott Jenkins wrote on Facebook.

The Virginia Defense League and Gun Owners of America, the gun-rights group that is pushing the Second Amendment sanctuary movement sent a letter to their supporters urging them to resist any unconstitutional gun control law the General Assembly passes in the new session next year.

“It is apparent that AG Herring and Governor Ralph Northam believe that Virginia localities have a duty to actively assist the Commonwealth in the enforcement of any law enacted by the General Assembly. These officials appear to believe that such blind obedience is required irrespective of whether a law violates the U.S. Constitution, the Virginia Constitution, or is manifestly destructive of the preexisting rights of the People of Virginia,” the groups wrote. “This radical view is demonstrably false, and ignores the significance of the fact that local officials are required by law to take an oath to support the federal and state constitutions above the laws enacted by the General Assembly.”

Northam Threatens Law Enforcement

Northam threatened that any law enforcement agency that doesn’t comply and enforce his gun grab would see their funding or authority revoked. “If we have constitutional laws on the books and law enforcement officers are not enforcing those laws on the books, then there are going to be consequences, but I’ll cross that bridge if and when we get to it,” Northam told reporters.

A few days later, Democrat Delegate Lee Carter of Manassas sponsored HB 67, which would apply to any law enforcement official, noting that those who “willfully refuses to perform the duties of his employment,” will be terminated and ineligible for future law enforcement employment for another year.

Virginia Democrats Threaten to use National Guard to go after Gun Owners

Rep. Donald McEachin made threats earlier this month saying the Virginia National Guard could be called in to enforce gun control laws. “And ultimately, I’m not the governor, but the governor may have to nationalize the National Guard to enforce the law,” Rep. Donald McEachin said. “That’s his call because I don’t know how serious these counties are and how severe the violations of law will be. But that’s obviously an option he has.”

Gov. Northam warned there would be consequences for law enforcement who don’t enforce new gun legislation.

“If we have constitutional laws on the books and law enforcement officers are not enforcing those laws on the books, then there are going to be some consequences but I’ll cross that bridge if and when we get to it,” Northam said.

The Virginia National Guard released the following official statement:

We have received multiple questions regarding proposed legislation for the 2020 General Assembly session and the authority of the Governor of Virginia to employ the Virginia National Guard in a law enforcement role.

We understand and respect the passion people feel for the U.S. Constitution and 2nd Amendment rights. We will not speculate about the possible use of the Virginia National Guard. I encourage everyone to be patient while we allow our elected officials to work through the legislative process. We have not received any requests from the Governor, or anyone on his staff, about serving in a law enforcement role related to any proposed legislation.

I expect our Soldiers, Airmen, and members of the Virginia Defense Force to be professional and respectful in their discussions about this subject. As private citizens, our personnel are free to express their opinions to their elected officials, but they should not engage in any political activity while in a uniformed status. We will provide regular updates when appropriate during the General Assembly session. Please utilize your chain of command to direct any questions or concerns to my office, and we will do our best to address them.

Militias Forming in Virginia

In some areas of Virginia, people are actually starting to form Militias. In fact, the Board of Supervisors in Tazewell County  approved a resolution placing emphasis on citizens’ rights to form a militia.

Tazewell County, Virginia, is forming a militia to defend the Constitution and, specifically, the Second Amendment, in the now-deep blue state. Within hours, they were flooded with emails from people across the state who wanted to join. These included military veterans, officers, and other patriotic Americans.

Independent Sentinel reports:

County Administrator Eric Young Said:

“Our position is that Article I, Section 13, of the Constitution of Virginia reserves the right to ‘order’ militia to the localities. Therefore, counties, not the state, determine what types of arms may be carried in their territory and by whom. So, we are ‘ordering’ the militia by making sure everyone can own a weapon.”

Thus, if anyone from the state tries to remove the Sheriff from their elected office because they refuse to enforce unjust laws, those state officials will be faced with a lawful militia composed of citizens within the state.

    1. Truer words were never said by Sheriff Lippas. God bless him for standing up to his state. I hope that every sheriff in Virginia has the balls to do the same. The state legislators are NOT supporting the U.S. Constitution. The folks that support banning rifles for any reason should be charged with treason. Period.

    2. America now knows what the Socialist gun grabbing Democrats are up to. Disarm America starting in Virginia. If this is how we the people are treated with our firearms? What chance will we the people have without them? Time for every red blooded American to come to the aid of our Country,Constitution and freedom from Tyrant. Support law abiding gun owners in Virginia against unlawful gun legislation by treasonous lawmakers that push aside our Second Amendment God given rights.

    3. At 73 years old, I am willing to stand beside our police, veterans, and all other law abiding gun owners who are willing to take on these TYRANTS in Richmond. Sign me up in a militia.

      • Heck, we’ve even collected old feather pillows and bought the tar for that SOB governor and his socialist scum buddies and the news media.

    4. In Virginia, The Socialist Democrats new gun laws if implimented in 2020 will make Felons out of thousands of law abiding gun owners overnight if they choose to keep their targeted firearms. This is a Socialist Democratic trial run to confiscate firearms throughout the United States. Gun confiscation must take place in order for Socialism / Communism and the New World Order to be ushered into the United States and then the rest of the world. The Democratic Party has been taken over by Socialist radicals that think Venizuela is a model for America. Our Second Amendment rights to keep and bare arms is what protects all of our rights given us in The Constitution. Every country that has been taken over by Tyrants has first confiscated it’s citizens firearms. Every American citizen should push back at this un Constitutional gun confiscation by Radical Socialist Democrats.

    5. I have long belived we are past the point where our differences can be resolved peacefully, the next civil war may begin as soon as next month.

    6. I as an American and gun owner fear that if this gets out of hand to the point where lines are drawn and shots are fired that America may quite likely be thrown into a second civil war.
This time however, instead of north against south or brother against brother it will be the citizens of America against the establishment.
Those with the most power tend to misuse said power.I am fully prepared to defend my constitutional rights. In 1990 I swore an oath to defend this country against ALL enemy’s both foreign AND domestic…
I may no longer be in the military but I will 100% defend myself and loved ones from a hostile government bent on infringing on my freedoms for personal or political gain.
the government has NO RIGHT to disarm any citizen.
The second amendment was put in place FOR THIS REASON. To try is plain tyranny and should be treated as such.

      • The tyrannical behavior of left wing officials, will be the end of justice in our country, until yet another revolution has come to pass.
Hopefully, these idiots will see the light before it ever gets that far.

    7. Virginia residents should all band together at the Capitol March in holding copies of the constitution and physically throw the bum out. No one will oppose law abiding citizens protecting their rights. Hopefully you won’t let a few gun haters completely control your state. First amendment will b next.

    8. Don’t give up people of Virginia, we are counting on you to set the presidence for all of us. The Government is not your friend, they want total control,

    9. Its about time all of us prepare to deal with matters like this. It’s time for Americans to say enough and take our Country back. The crooked political bureauocracy has held hostage our rights for far too long.FREEDOM, must NOT be given nor taken lightly. What are YOU prepared to do?? Virginia’s stance is AWESOME!!!.Count me in!!

    10. How is the governor and legislatures going to escape from Richmond? Airport is out, Rt. 360 is out 95 out., 64 is out. “Rebel check points will be strong” to catch these traitors to America.

    11. Go too those politicians homes/work/ grocery store etc and citizen arrest them police etc take them too constitutional upholding jails, courts no bond. Give them true justice deserving, if found guilty according too the crime from tar and feather literally too death if full treason as our founding fathers did!

    12. Hang tough Virginia, Texas is also with you. Several yrs ago I bought a Virginian Dragoon Colt 45, long colt 45 stainless steel commemortive for the state of Virginia which has inscribed on the butt of the pistol “Sic Semper Tyrannis”. It means against all tyranny!

    13. I’ll be keeping track of your plight against your tyrannical governor, and I do wish ya’ll the best. If Virginia succeeds in disarmament(which I don’t think they will),Texans may have to break away from the United States, since Texas has always had that option, and has it’s own stock market etc, we’ll re-fight the alamo to keep our guns. Godbless ya’ll!

    14. Isn’t Virginia’s state motto against all tyranny? My commemorative Virginian Dragoon 45 long colt has it enscribed on the butt of the pistol, “Sic Semper Tyrannis”
