Japan’s Nuclear reactors in danger of meltdown

Nuclear reactor in Japan A number of Japan’s Nuclear reactors have sustained major damage in the 8.9 Magnitude earthquake. As many as 5 reactors have shut down, and one nuclear plant is planning to release radioactive vapor into the air to relieve pressure.

If the shutdown in the cooling system continues, a nuclear safety agency official said that it could lead to a total reactor meltdown.

3,000 residents have been evacuated from the area in the first emergency at a nuclear plant.
