Saved by an MP3 Player

Two skiers, who went missing near the town of Savognin in southeastern Switzerland, were saved by Swiss rescuers after they spotted the light from one of their MP3 players. The Rescue crew received a call for help from the skiers late Friday, but their battery went dead before they could get through.

The search and rescue team found them in a very rough wooded area when the helicopter crew spotted a small light on their mp3 player.

While an MP3 Player isn’t your typical signaling device, it does go to show how important it is to have some type of reflective material with you in the wilderness. Having something to catch the attention of a passing plane or helicopter can save your life.
