Survivorman Goes Off The Grid

I’m usually not a big fan of the Survival T.V. genre, but this video from Les Stroud is a pretty good look into what it takes to live off the grid with a family. It documents the original Survivorman, Les Stroud, as he and his family take the journey of living off the grid.

Find out exactly what it took to build his off grid home.

  1. I like his idea and am in the process of getting off the grid myself, but I would be curious to what he spent on all he did including the price of land. I wouldn’t be suprised if the cost was 400,000.00 or more.

  2. In his haste to get everything done before winter, they sallied forth without a plan. I suspect they would have been done just as early with less stress, and more cheaply if they waited a few months and started after the winter broke with a proper plan and budget.

    Still, good for them.
