For those of you that think you have to spend thousands of dollars on expensive outdoor gear, check out the huge 21 pound catfish this guy caught using nothing but a Barbie rod and reel. He caught the 21-pound fish on 6-pound test line.
Now I’m not suggesting that you skimp on your gear, I just want people to remember that in a survival situation you will have to make do with what you have. If you can’t afford expensive brand name gear, at least put together a kit that has some generic gear.
As you get more money you can slowly start to change out your gear with the brand name stuff, while still having the generic gear as a backup.
If this guy can catch a 21 pound catfish with a kids fishing pole, imagine what you can do with a little bit gear and a lot of knowledge.
