Angler’s Gift Guide: Our Favorite Fishing Gear and Gifts

Fishing Gift Guide

Are you looking for a gift for your favorite angler? Or maybe you’re just worried Santa’s not going to bring you what you asked for!

Well, don’t worry we have you covered. Check out some OFFGRID Survival’s favorite fishing gear from this year.

Abu Garcia Revo X Low Profile Combo

Abu Garcia Revo X

If you’re looking for a great combo that will work in just about any fishing situation, then the new Revo X Baitcast combo is one of the best options on the market right now. The latest Revo X gives you all the features you would expect from a high-performance combo without having to pay the hefty price tag that you would typically expect from this type of combo.

If you’re on a budget and can’t afford a bunch of different setups, but still want to be able to fish in a variety of different conditions with a variety of different baits, then the Revo X is probably one of your best bets.

Flambeau Portage Backpack

Flambeau Portage Backpack

The Portage backpack is a beast of a bag and is designed to hold just about anything you will ever need while out on the water. The bag holds up to (5) 5000 series Tuff Tainers in the main compartment, (1) 502HD series Tuff Tainer or Spinnerbait Box in top storage compartment, (1) 4000 series Tuff Tainer and (1) 3000 series Tuff Tainer in each side compartment.

Along the side compartments, the bag also features MOLLE, allowing you to strap on even more gear or side pocket accessories.

Lucky Tackle Box

Lucky Tackle Box

If you’re looking for a gift for your favorite fisherman, but you’re not quite sure what to get him, then take the guesswork out of the equation and sign him up for Lucky Tackle Box. Lucky Tackle Box is a monthly subscription service that sends you a box full of fishing gear every month. What’s cool about the box is it exposes you to a wide range of tackle that you may have never used, and it’s an excellent option for someone who isn’t quite sure what their favorite fisherman uses.

Klean Kanteen Insulated Growler

Insulated Kleen Kanteen

There’s nothing like a cold beer when you’re out on the water, but there’s nothing that sucks more getting a mouthful of lukewarm beer. I’ve been a huge fan of Klean Kanteen for some time now; I carry one of their regular bottles in all of my hiking/bugout bags, and there new insulated growler just got added to my tackle bag.

The Klean Kanteen Insulated Growler is Double Wall Vacuum Insulated and will keep drinks cold for 30 hours and iced for 80 hours. It also features a leak-proof seal, so no more knocking those beers over in the boat!

Native Eyewear Sightcaster Glasses

Native Eyeware

It’s almost that time of year where I start dreaming of sight fishing those bass beds. If you’re a fan of sight fishing, then you know the importance of a good polarized lens. The Native Eyewear Sightcaster glasses are designed to block up to 4X more infrared light than a regular polarized lens.

Dometic CFX-75DZW Cooler Box

domestic offgrid cooler

This is a game changer for those of you who take extended camping, fishing, or hunting trips out into the backcountry. No more worrying about ice, or how you are going to keep things cold during your longterm trips.

The Dometic CFX Cooler Boxes feature two separate compartments for cooling and freezing, it can be operated indefinitely out in the field with solar power, and it is awesome for emergencies.

myCharge Portable Power Outlet

myCharge Outlet

I do a lot of writing when I’m out in the field, so having a set of battery backups is a must. The myCharge Portable Power Outlets allow you to replace heavy, bulky generators and can give you enough power to run laptops and small TVs, and recharge iPads, phones, and camera gear.

The Fishing Caddy

The Fishing Caddy

The Fishing Caddy puts everything you need in one easy to carry bucket. I love this thing for those days when I’m just out there drinking some beers and resting on the shore waiting for a big cat to send the tip of that pole flying!

The Fishing Caddy is made in America, comes with a 60-day money back guarantee, and a two-year warranty. The caddy comes in camo or blue ice designs with the option to have a padded seat top or a tackle box lid. The caddy also features a built-in beer holder, a live well for bait, two rod holders, and LED lights for night fishing.

Lew’s Mach Crush Speed Spool Baitcasting Reel

Lews Crush Baitcaster

I’ve been waiting for this reel to come out for awhile! I’ve been using the Mach 1 for the last couple of years, and it’s one of my favorite go-to reels, so when I heard this was coming out at the last iCast show, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it.

The reel fits in my hand a lot better than my Mach 1, and the Winn Dri-Tac knobs are a huge improvement over the small Mach-1 knobs. This is a great reel for just about any bait and with a 7:5.1 gear ratio you can really burn your baits through the water.
