For the last 25 years there’s been a federal law that’s restricted our ability to carry loaded guns in national parks. Well it looks like people will finally be able to carry concealed, loaded guns in most of our national parks and wildlife refuges.
Last Friday, The Bush administration said they will overturn the law, and will now allow people to carry guns in our national parks. When the new law takes effect in January, people with a permit for a concealed weapon will be able to carry a loaded gun into a national park or wildlife refuge.
But hold on, before you go jumping for joy, President-elect Obama made a statement saying that will review all eleventh-hour regulations and will address them as soon as he’s president. So this may be a short term victory for gun owners, but at least it is a step in a positive direction.
