We have a number of updates concerning the Nuclear crisis in Japan.

Reuters is reporting radiation at the No. 2 nuclear plant is now 10 million times normal levels……. workers evacuated.
3-24-2011 1:30 P.M.
Colorado and Oregon now reporting trace levels of iodine-131 radiation.
The Environmental Protection Agency has now acknowledged trace amounts of radioactive iodine, cesium, and tellurium at four of its RadNet monitoring stations on the West Coast. Since then, they have pulled public access to the real time RadNet Maps and replaced it with historical graphs.

- Neutron beam observed at least 13 times from the Fukushima Nuclear Plant
NHK is reporting that Neutron beams have been observed at the Fukushima Nuclear Plant on at least 13 different occasions since the disaster started. This is important because it means that uranium and plutonium have probably leaked from the plant’s reactors and the neutron beams are confirmation of a more severe leak from nuclear fission. - Japan not measuring Radiation Levels. Yukio Edano, Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary, told reporters that they are not measuring radiation levels at Fukushima. He admitted that they can only estimate the amount of radiation that is being released.
- IAEA say’s levels are 1,600 times the normal level. Although the Japanese government is not currently measuring levels, the IAEA is reporting that radiation levels around the Fukushima nuclear plant are 1,600 times the normal level.
- EPA pulls 8 monitors showing “abnormal Readings” The EPA told Bloomberg that they pulled 8 monitors from the west coast after “abnormal readings” showed a possible spike in levels for the West Coast. The EPA also reported that small amounts of radiation have been detected in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Seattle.
- Tokyo Water Supply contaminated with radioactive iodine. Tokyo Water Bureau announced that radioactive iodine levels in the city’s tap water are now two time the legal limit for infants.
They have a similar Radnet map that you can look at that is a Daily update, its better than nothing. Check out the following link: http://www.epa.gov/japan2011/rert/radnet-data-map.html
Well, I have some good news. They’re now saying that radiation levels are NOT 10 million times that if normal. They supposedly found it just to be a glitch in the system and that the reason was wrong. It is not as hazardous as they thought it was.
The news just started saying this and I see it as some good news, but still be weary people. This isn’t over yet.
Here is some bad news……..reactor melted and ready to blow. radiation levels were 3000 yesterday today 4084 and rising. we are not out of the crises just at its beginning. Also the maps at government sites are not truthful, so be careful of what you believe. They want you to think all is well. Use your head and check things out first.
is there people to people contamination?
To Reba, the only thing that contains contaminants are the radioactive particles. So if someone just has radioactive poisoning they are not contagious. However if they were covered with radioactive particles, those particles can transfer, fall off, and contaminate the surrounding environment. This is why the workers and anyone working within the “zone” are wearing the full body suits and receive a full shower before leaving the area. Hope I could help.
