We go through a lot of gear here every year. Between reviewing gear for Off Grid Survival, and checking out the newest fishing and hunting gear for our outdoors site, CountryHookers.com, we come across some pretty cool and interesting stuff. Check out some of our favorite gear from this year’s holiday gear guide.
Brookstone 13000 mAh Battery Backup Power Charger
The Brookstone 13,000 mAh Backup battery is the perfect stocking stuffer for your preparedness minded friends and family. It’s great for weather emergencies, and can provide enough emergency power to charge an average smartphone over 7 times.
The Battery Backup Retails for around $129
Power Practical’s Lithium 4400 Rechargeable Battery Bank
Small enough to slip into your pocket, the Lithium 4400 is a great little every-day carry battery backup. It weighs only 4.2 ounces and can recharge an iPhone about 2.5 times.
The Unit retails for under $50
The Survival Slingshot
Great for target practice, or even hunting small game, The Survival Shot has more in common with modern bows than it does the slingshots of your childhood. It has a rail system that can be used to mount a tactical flashlight, a Whisker Biscuit for firing arrows, and weaver accessories.
They start at $50 for the basic model.
Camelbak Forge Vacuum Mug
Awesome for keeping your coffee hot on those cold winter mornings in the tree stands, or out on the boat fishing for winter bass, the Camelbak Forge Vacuum Mug is one of my favorite small thermos mugs on the market.
The CamelBak Forge retail for $27.99
Ugly Stik GX2 Spinning Pack Rod
Yes, I do have an emergency fishing rod – I run a site called Off Grid Survival & Monster Fish & Game what did you expect? It’s actually always packed right behind the seat of my truck, ready for any new body of water that I might discover while out on the road. The Ugly Stik GX2 Spinning Pack Rod is comparable to a non-packable Ugly Stik and I’ve used it to pull in a number of Bass while out on the road.
The Ugly Stik GX2 retails for $39
The Solio Bolt
The Solio Bolt is a cool little pocket size solar charger that comes with a 2000mAh rechargeable/replaceable battery. The battery will hold a charge for up to a year, and it measures in at 3.5” x 1” x 3.5” (W x H x D) and weighs only 5.3 ounces.
The Solio Bolt retails for around $70
The Ultimate Situational Survival Guide
One of the best gifts you can give is the gift of preparedness. The Ultimate Situational Survival Guide, will give your loved ones step-by-step instructions for surviving urban crime, riots and violence, disease outbreaks and pandemics, economic problems and social unrest, and man-made and natural disasters.
The book is available at Amazon and other major booksellers.
take apart ugly stick,,,oh santa please.
Give the gift of wisdom and convert at least one far left nut to see the light. If we all can change one person and put them on a good path, maybe w can still have time to fix this country before the end.
These are all great. .I guess ik what I’m getting myself for Christmas. :-)
I didn’t pay near that for my ugly sticks. The first one I found online for 15 bucks the second one that is identical to the first I found in the clearance section of Walmart (that store didn’t carry that model), I got it for 9.00. Since I have two I have used one just for a quick grab a kit to go fishing after work, it works great. The reels I put on them cost more than the rods did.
