Rolling Blackouts across the Southwest

For those that are still not convinced to how woefully inadequate our infrastructure has become, take a look at some of the headlines that are coming across the wires today….

  • Ten of thousands in New Mexico without natural gas service….. Gov. Susana Martinez declares a state of emergency.
  • Rolling Blackouts in West Texas
  • Natural gas shortages across the Southwest
  • Texan’s asked To Limit Use Of Natural Gas
  • 14,000 without Gas after Outage in Tucson
  • Cal ISO orders San Diego County gas-fired power plants to hold back power in an effort to conserve energy
  • Texas reduced to begging Mexico for Natural Gas…. Mexico says NO.
  • Local Governments telling residents to turn down their thermostats bundle up and turn off their appliances.
  • Emergency Response facilities from hospitals to police stations being included in the rolling blackouts as demand increases.

If our infrastructure cannot even handle a couple of winter storms, what do you think will happen during a real national emergency?

  1. I live in New Mexico. I am a budding survivalist who was just effected by the natural gas shortage. It was a major wake-up call as to just how poorly prepared I am. I spent hours driving around looking for wood to burn in my fireplace. I didn’t even have a plan in place to keep my family warm. After I made my fourth stop, without success, reality set in then anger. That’s it for me. I don’t care to be lumped in with the other “sheeple”. Thanks for this great website. I’ll be putting my BOB together right away and discussing survival plans with my family.
