One more great piece of news is coming out of California this morning. It seems the water ways are so polluted that according to Peter Moyle, professor of conservation biology at UC Davis, most of the states salmon, and trout species could be extinct by the end of the century.
Things are so bad that experts warn 20 of the remaining 31 species of native California fish could die off sometime in the next 100 years. “I had a feeling that things were not good,” Moyle said. “But I did not realize how many collectively were actually in serious trouble and how underestimated the threats to many of these fish were.”
I guess it shouldn’t come as a surprise, when the bottled water we drink is filled with dangerous chemicals, just imagine how bad our waterways have become. If the government keeps letting greedy corporations dump whatever the hell they want into our water, it’s only a matter of time before fish aren’t the only ones that will face extinction.
Now I’m not a raving environmentalist, but there comes a time when people have to open there eyes to what is really going on. How many pharmaceuticals, pesticides and chemicals can we produce before the planet, and everything living on it starts to feel the effects?
