WARNING – Check your Medical preps for Recalled alcohol wipes

contaminated alcohol wipes from the Traid groupWarning to all Survivalist / Preppers / Parents / etc…..

If you have any alcohol wipes in your first aid kits please check them immediately. MSNBC is reporting that alcohol wipes sold by the Triad Group have been recalled due to contamination by the bacteria Bacillus cereus, which could lead to life threatening infections.
The alcohol pads, swabs and swabsticks we’re sold in a number of retail pharmacies in boxes containing 100 packets.

The pads may also be marked with the following 3rd party brand names:

  • Cardinal Health
  • PSS Select
  • Smith & Nephew
  • VersaPro
  • Boca/ Ultilet
  • Moore Medical
  • Walgreens
  • CVS
  • Relistor
  • Conzellin
  • This is just a partial list of names.… it looks like this company makes a majority of the alcohol pads that are sold in the U.S.

I would throw away anything that was manufactured by this company whether or not it was part of this recall. Apparently our useless government agency, the FDA, has known about contamination problems at the TRIAD Group since as far back as June of 2009. The FDA failed to do anything to stop the company from selling contaminated medical products to the public, and only acted after a number of people became seriously ill and a 2 year old baby died.

Personally, I think those heartless bastards at the FDA and the Triad Group should be brought up on murder charges, but we all know that will never happen. A new FDA report also highlights problems with a number of other products that the Traid group makes including mouthwash, acne pads, and children’s cold medicine. None of those products have been added to the Recall notice.

So please check your preps for these alcohol pads or anything that is associated with this company… and please pass the word along to others.

  1. It’s really unnerving how a product designed to kill bacteria becomes infected and harmful. I’m glad I use clean gauze and high purity isopropyl alcohol for my disinfectants.

  2. This is really upsetting since my 7 year old daughter developed insulin dependant diabetes as a result of her cancer treatments. We have used these alcohol wipes for the past two years to clean the vials and skin prior to each injection – -the risk of her developing an infection from this is really upsetting!

  3. The problem with the pads is Triad manufacturers most of the pads by the store brands such as CVS, Walgreens, etc. It doesn’t tell you that Triad is the manufacturer, it only says manufactured “for” CVS, Walgreens, etc. The very agencies that are instilled to protect us are evidentally either being paid under the table or are just lazy and not doing their jobs. I am a type II diabetic and use these pads at least twice a day. We are susceptible to more easily contract illnesses than most people. Wonder how efficient they would be if it were their families.

  4. Does anyone know if you’ve been using these wipes for injection site “cleansing” if a blood test can detect the bacteria? I went down with bacterial pneumonia a few weeks ago. 2 rounds of antibiotics seem to have knocked it on its rear but I’m still having unusual back pain and I don’t think my doctor is taking me seriously.

  5. i would like to know what health hazards these can cause i was using to clean my fingers before testing my sugar
