134 ice fisherman rescued from Lake Erie ice

A mile wide chunk of ice on Lake Erie separated from the shoreline, trapping more than 130 fishermen for over 4 hours. Local officials blamed the fisherman saying they knew the ice was dangerous, and angrily said that the fisherman put rescuers lives at risk.

The ice was so bad that the fishermen began their day by making a wooden pallet bridge over a crack in the ice so they could get to where they wanted to fish. The bridge later fell into the water when the ice shifted, stranding the people 1,000 yards offshore.

This is why they need to start charging stupid people for search and rescue missions. If you do something dumb, you should have to pay the price.
