Check out this interesting story of Keith Thompson, a guy who decided to live completely off the Grid.
Keith started with a plot of land that had no road, no power or water lines,and no access to any kind of utilities. He built his house by hand , dug a well, created a solar power system and is living his dream of off grid living.

Me too! Where did he get all this money to do all this expensive buying?
I think he talks about how he goes out to work? but your right commercially built solar systems are very expensive. Unless you build them yourself, that’s what my site is about.
I love the whole video particularly how he wraps it up!

Can he do better?
Absolutely, how about implementing a food productions system, like Aquaponics, that gets you fish/shrimp and 100% organic Vegies, free for life,
or raising chickens for meat/ eggs, well, not for life but at least for 3-5 years of eggs.
