Grab-And-Run Kit

Bad things can and will happen. Don’t be caught off guard!

We highly recommend our readers have a grab and run kit or what’s sometimes referred to as a 72 hour kit. Basically it’s a survival bag that contains enough supplies to get you through a natural disaster. The bag should be something that you can quickly and easily grab when an emergency happens and should be filled with only the essentials.

Why 72 Hours?

During a major disaster, you need to have enough supplies on hand to help you survive until things return to normal. A good rule of thumb to follow is the 72 hour rule.

72 hours is generally accepted as the least amount of time it will take for things to return to normal after a natural disaster. From utilities to the transportation of goods and services, a major disaster can cause large-scale disruptions in services. Having a grab and go kit can help you sustain yourself and your family while things around you may be falling apart.

  1. a lot of good ideas and I do have all of the above included in my survival bag…. the one thing every one has over looked is . a couple of hot glue sticks they take up very little space and can be useful for a multitude of thing in a repair situation…I do not recommend superglue the shelf life is to short even unopened and spills well you figure it out speaking from experience
